Our Dojo

Aikido Nord du Lac is located at 2050 Spartan Drive, Mandeville, Louisiana. Our Dojo is open to anyone wishing to study Aikido, the martial art created by Morihei Ueshiba, referred to as O'Sensei by Aikido practitioners.  Visitors are always welcome.

Aikido taught at our dojo is known as Iwama Style, because it was transmitted by O'Sensei to Morihiro Saito Sensei when O'Sensei was living in Iwama, Japan. Saito Sensei was the longest, direct student of O'Sensei, training with O'Sensei from 1946 until his death in 1969. Our goal is to faithfully teach the Aikido of O'Sensei as taught by Saito Sensei.

Our Dojo is affiliated with the Aikikai Foundation (Aikido World Headquarters) in Tokyo, Japan, through Aikido in Fredericksburg, our parent Dojo, which is a member of the Takemusu Aikido Association.
